Looking at the March 2011 figures, the TNT Travel Show welcomed 12,260 visitors - a 30% increase on 2009. The show is attended by young people (18-35 year olds), who on average spend over £2000 per year on travel. The audience os predominantly from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, although we have seen increases in the number of other nationalities attending, including British, American, Canadian and European.
Attendees are looking for sightseeing and cultural breaks, beach holidays, weekend and day trips, and adventure travel. Most are looking for European travel (69%), and most are looking to book a trip right there on the day. Over half take advantage of deals excusive to the show and are planning to travel within the next month, while others are eager to travel within three months of the show.
Simply put, the show attracts a mobile and dedicated audience who are well-informed, serious about travel, and looking for the best. Our exhibitors reap the rewards - some take in over £600,000 on the day.
